About the Journal

Topoi. Revista de História is an open access quarterly journal published by the Graduate Program on Social History at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. As a peer reviewed international journal, it seeks to promote academic debate through articles, interviews, translations, book reviews, and critical essays historically oriented. Created in 2000, Topoi is open to all disciplines, time periods, and historical themes.  By publishing original academic work, it aims to stimulate debates, to publicize cutting edge research in history, and to give visibility to new intellectual work by the most qualified scholars in the humanities. Initially published in print, Topoi became an open access electronic only journal in 2008. Topoi publishes mostly articles by external authors, stimulating exogeny. The length of the editorial process from submission to editing the text is 20 weeks on average. The journal combines modern editorial technology and a solid and successful tradition in publishing, and it is an important vehicle for the diffusion of  new  and provoking historiography.

Its abbreviated title is Topoi (Rio J.), which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes and bibliographical references and strips.
